1) Always put CSS class on page top in HEAD tag
2) Include all external Javascripts reference in page bottom
3) Minify/compress the javascripts and css before uploading to production server.
4) Make the aspx/php extension url’s as .html extension so that its SEO friendly (Helicon tool is good for this in case of .net programmers)
5) Dont forget to put the ALT attribute for all IMG tags
6) Avoid any unwanted logging mechanisms to any external files. Make a practice that its only written while exceptions occur
7) For validations always use javascript/jquery technology rather than server side checkings. Icallback is a good method of server side checking mechanism.
8) Always place google analytics scripts (if any) below in page, but just inside tag
9) Make the HTTP requests as low as possible in PAGE LOAD process. No unwanted js or css should be loaded for a page.
10) Page titles, meta tags, meta descriptions area must for search engine crawlers
11) Cache thsoe files which are not expected to change frequently (.js, .css, .jpg, .config, static htmls etc)
12) Do not scale images within html’s. Always use the image tags without height and width and use only properly formatted images in it.
